Freedom Meadow
Dedicated in 2002, Freedom Meadow is a memorial to those who lost their lives as a result of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The memorial is located at the northeast corner of Warren Sports Complex. We will never forget the lives we lost on September 11, 2001.
Freedom Meadow was updated by the City of Frisco in 2019. The Meadow was broadened to increase the conservation of the Blackland Prairie. A controlled burn was performed to kill invasive grasses that hindered the seeding of bluebonnets and other native wildflowers.
September 11th Remembrance, every year...
The Frisco Garden Club assisted the City of Frisco Parks & Recreations Department to raise funds for landscaping the sanctuary area at the top of the hill on the East side of the Warren Sports Complex on Eldorado Pkwy. For many years, a solemn seed scattering event, held on 9/11 of each year helped to seed the Blackland Prairie preserve with bluebonnets. Dedicated in 2002, Freedom Meadow is a peaceful place to sit and reflect on the resilience and beauty of nature. The granite monument is dedicated in Loving Memory of all who have suffered from acts of terrorism.“May freedom forever flower and terrorism flee its fragrance.”
